Thank you to all of my readers that stay reading and visit my blog that have I shared about my activity on farm as new student in this course which is Diploma of Plantation Industry Management. I have learned a lot of new things in this course that I before this didn't know. I also hoping that you will enjoy reading my blog according to my experience in farm.

This week was the eight week that I gain experience in farm. So this week, we continued the next activity that we apply to our planting bed. In this week, our crop have growth healthy and start to crawling to the stack that we made. To make sure the root, leaf and flower growth with good condition we must apply some fertilizer that we call it NPK green. This was the second time we applying the fertilizer which is the earlier is chicken dung fertilizer (organic fertilizer). For this fertilizer which is NPK green is chemical fertilizer that we use to encouraging the growth of root, leaf and flower of the plants.

NPK Green
The fertilizer

Basically the content of the NPK green is nitrogen, phosphorus and kalium. The rate for all this material is 15 percent. Each of us must puts 600 gram NPK green fertilizer at our planting bed. It is must be apply at the trunk of the crop and we must be carefully put the fertilizer on the soil and we must make sure the fertilizer not touch the trunk of the crop it is because if the fertilizer touch the trunk of the crop it is may cause the trunk will be burned. This happen because the condition of the fertilizer is hot and it is made of from chemical and we must be carefully handling this fertilizer. We are also wearing gloves for our own safety to prevent our hands also burned.

CANOPY ON OUR PLANTING BED

Basically the function of the canopy is to give space to the crop to creeping on the stack. It is because long bean is type of plant that creeping on what ever we puts on the planting bed. It is also can easier for us to plucking the long bean when it is ready to harvest. We use the plastic rope that we called it "tali rafia" to make the canopy. We bind the rope between the planting bed of our friends. It is will look like tunnel if the the crop creeping on the canopy and be the spot of to take pictures.
