Thank you to all of my readers that stay reading and visit my blog that have I shared about my activity on farm as new student in this course which is Diploma of Plantation Industry Management. I have learned a lot of new things in this course that I before this didn't know. I also hoping that you will enjoy reading my blog according to my experience in farm.

This week was the eight week that I gain experience in farm. So this week, we continued the next activity that we apply to our planting bed. In this week, our crop have growth healthy and start to crawling to the stack that we made. To make sure the root, leaf and flower growth with good condition we must apply some fertilizer that we call it NPK green. This was the second time we applying the fertilizer which is the earlier is chicken dung fertilizer (organic fertilizer). For this fertilizer which is NPK green is chemical fertilizer that we use to encouraging the growth of root, leaf and flower of the plants.

NPK Green
The fertilizer

Basically the content of the NPK green is nitrogen, phosphorus and kalium. The rate for all this material is 15 percent. Each of us must puts 600 gram NPK green fertilizer at our planting bed. It is must be apply at the trunk of the crop and we must be carefully put the fertilizer on the soil and we must make sure the fertilizer not touch the trunk of the crop it is because if the fertilizer touch the trunk of the crop it is may cause the trunk will be burned. This happen because the condition of the fertilizer is hot and it is made of from chemical and we must be carefully handling this fertilizer. We are also wearing gloves for our own safety to prevent our hands also burned.

CANOPY ON OUR PLANTING BED

Basically the function of the canopy is to give space to the crop to creeping on the stack. It is because long bean is type of plant that creeping on what ever we puts on the planting bed. It is also can easier for us to plucking the long bean when it is ready to harvest. We use the plastic rope that we called it "tali rafia" to make the canopy. We bind the rope between the planting bed of our friends. It is will look like tunnel if the the crop creeping on the canopy and be the spot of to take pictures.

WEEK 7(TAGGING)

WEEK 7
FRIDAY
20/4/2018
TAGGING PROCESS

Asslamualaikum w.b.t to all my readers, i hope you all in a good condition and healthy. I will continue writing my blog this week with another process that we applied on farm which is tagging process. As we all know everything things in this world have a name including our-self right. This is easy to others that know us by calling our name. Its similar to our planting bed also has a name that i called with nickname is Tanah Kubur. Sound scary right but it my decision to put that name because i really like the title drama on Astro Oasis which is Tanah Kubur. I am big fan of Tok Adi the main character on that drama.

When we have a name, the next step is we must have a tagging. The function of the tagging is easy to us to know the planting bed is belong to which person. Besides that, we are on learning process on farm so it is must be apply by us. The tagging on our planting bed have our information such as name, class, student id,name of the crop and their scientific name also our lecturer in charge. Each of us must put the tagging on our planting bed which is locate on in front of our planting bed.

My planting bed

The material of the tagging is A4 paper, small wood that we buy at hardware, thumbtack and piece of hard plastic. The cost of each tagging is only 12 ringgit that we use our money. We also laminate the paper to avoid from the weather condition because its locate at outdoor so that tagging will not vanish.

The leaf so lush, its near to close  my tagging.

After we the tagging is ready we put the tagging on in front of our planting bed. Its is so easy process that we just put the thumbtack on the wood along with the paper and after that we just poke the tagging into the planting bed.

Its seem look like the easier process but we are also have a few problem in make its ready. Some of the problem is we are wrong on put the scientific of our crop so we must make the new one. The others one is we wrong spell our name lecturer and the size of the paper is to small and not its not follow the instructions of our planters executive wants. So the moral of the story is everything that we wants to do if its involve grouping works we must make discussion with our group member or asking their opinions. The most important things is we must follow the instructions and not do with ask you like.

Do not shy to asking a questions if we do not understand or confuse because its not make us loss. There some quote that "I had heard which is do not feel shy if you are asking a questions but you must feel shy you do not asking the question that its will make you fool forever, so lets we seen fool now and not on the future".

That is from me on this week activity we see on the next week activity on my writing. Just keep stay reading guys. Thank you so much for your time until we meet again. Stay tuned okay.
Bye.

WEEK 6
FRIDAY
13 APRIL 2018
SHARE FARM UITM JASIN MELAKA

Asslamualaikum to everyone. i hope all of you in a good health and happy today. This week I will continue explain and telling to you about my activity at the share farm Uitm Jasin. On this week, our planting bed is already settled with others work, and we just doing the general maintenance for the planting bed such as watering the plants, cleaning the drains, remove the weeds on our planting bed and others. Besides that, we also take some initiative to make a shelter on our farm because the functions of the shelter was to protects us from the sun's heat when all of us take a rest. This idea to make the shelter was came from our lecturer Miss Azlina.

Find the oil palm fronds

Together we build the shelter

Put the oil palm fronds on the top of the shelter as a roof

This shelter was design by all of us that its can put all of us under the shelter. We have only use the balance of the branch from the wood we finds for the staking process. Its enough to builds big shelter for us because the balance of the woods was so many.

After this shelter finish the builds we can used of its for resting and eats together under the shelter. It is really function and useful to us that we are not doing the useless work.

General Maintenance

We must do the general maintenance to our planting bed to make sure its free from disease and pest. We must cleans the planting bed from the fallen leaves because it's can cause fungi to our our crops.
Clear the drains to make sure the water can flow freely or not it's will make our planting bed hit by the flood.

My planting bed

We are also must remove and clear the pest that eats the leaves. This pest it's not good for our crop because it's eat the leaves that can disturb the photosynthesis process.
